Hyundai set to reveal N-Line spec

-

Hyundai is due to introduce an N-Line trim level, according to boss Tony Whitehorn.

The president and CEO of Hyundai Motor UK confirmed that an N-Line specification would be revealed soon, allowing customers to get the look of its new halo N-cars on more regular models.

“Our remit is ‘Let’s make these sorts of vehicles accessible to the general public’. You can do this by making the i30 N a very well-priced vehicle, but also by making an N-Line or NSport-type vehicle too.”

This development would see regular Hyundai cars offered in a sportier, more dynamic trim level. In keeping with similar specifications available on rival cars, it’s likely that spoilers, larger wheels and perhaps a lowered ride height would be applied to the manufacturer’s more run-of-the-mill vehicles.

It comes in the wake of the i30 N’s introduction in the UK. Coming as the manufacturer’s first ever hot hatch, it rivals the likes of the Volkswagen Golf GTI and Honda Civic Type R.

Developed in part by ex-BMW M-division vicepresident Albert Biermann, it is the result of many hundreds of development hours, including thousands of laps at the gruelling Nurburgring circuit in Germany.

The new i30 N is set to go on sale on January 4, with prices starting at £24,995.
