the break but the Highland League side restored parity two minutes into the second half through a Paul Campbell penalty before Hay’s late winner.

Cowie knows exactly which team he hopes the Broch are paired with in today’s draw.

He said: “I want to play Celtic at Parkhead. They’re the best team in the country, so to go up against Brendan Rodgers and his men is the dream tie.”

Cowie was delighted with the desire shown by his side against their Lowland League opponents.

He said: “Late on, I had to make the most difficult decision I’ve faced so far in management, do we go for a winner or do we settle for bringing them back to Bellslea?

“Luckily that conundrum was answered when Bryan Hay scored the 88th-minute winner. That really was a pleasant surprise.

“Spartans were by far the better side in the first half.

“There’s no denying that and they deservedly led 1-0 at half time.

“We had a gameplan. We knew that they would start well and come at us in the early stages but maybe start to tire towards the end so we tried to stay in the game as long as possible.

“We made a change at half time and it paid off when we got a penalty just two minutes after the restart, and I think over the course of the second half we were the better side.

“They had a chance just before we scored but Peter Tait pulled off a good save. We went right up the park and scored the winner, and it was a great time to score with only a couple of minutes remaining.”

Spartans took the lead in the 17th minute when David Greenhill fed Jamie Dishington and he beat Tait with a 12-yard grounder.

Broch levelled two minutes into the second half when Paul Campbell netted from the spot after a foul on Willie West before Hay netted the winner from a corner kick.
