Finnis was sent off. Lilywhites manager Iain Polworth was pleased to collect another three points in difficult conditions.

He said: “It was the proverbial game of two halves and I think the wind spoiled it to be honest.

“I felt that we were dealt harshly with the penalty and red card given against us.

“However, I’m happy to get another three points from what’s always a difficult place to come to.”

Clach took the lead in the ninth minute through an excellent strike from the returning Daniel Maclennan.

Finnis fired home number two five minutes later following a corner and in the 21st minute Sean Webb headed into the net to put the visitors firmly in control.

Finnis turned from hero to villain right on half-time, when he was harshly judged to have brought down David Wilson in the penalty area and shown a straight red card by referee Alex Shepherd.

But Ryan Farquhar missed from the spot and Clach remained three up at the break.

Lossie took advantage of the extra man when Ross Archibald pulled one back ten minutes into the second half with a cheeky backheel from five yards.

Logan Johnstone then netted their second to set up an exciting finale with left but Clach held on to claim the win and extend their unbeaten league run to three matches.

Lossie player-manager Iain Macrae was disappointed with his side’s slow start to the game.

He said: “I thought we were very poor in the first half. We did get a lot better in the second period and could have got a point in the end.”
