Player sent sex messages to girl, 13

-

A teenage north-east rugby player has been placed on the sex offenders’ register after he admitted sending sexual messages to a schoolgirl on Facebook.

Dean Mutch sent the 13-year-old messages for the purpose of “obtaining sexual gratification” or causing her humiliation, alarm and distress.

The messages, which contained sexually explicit remarks, were sent from his home on Stewart Crescent in Kemnay between February and March last year.

Mutch also confessed to indecent communication with an older child over the same period.

The 19-year-old Aberdeen Wanderers player previously pled guilty to the offences at Aberdeen Sheriff Court where he returned yesterday to be sentenced.

Sheriff Philip Mann placed him under supervision for three years and also placed him on the sex offenders’ register for the same period.
