Village to come alive with sound of music

A small Aberdeensh­ire village will come alive to the tune of folk music this month.

Tarland will host its fifth Food and Music Festival next weekend, bringing together musicians and food producers to showcase the best of the rural area.

The weekend celebratio­n will see a headline concert by Blazin’ Fiddles. The band, now in their 20th year, will be supported by Speyfest’s Young Entertaine­rs of the Year 2017, The Rowies.

Opening the festival on Friday September 28 will be folk trio Project Smok, followed by a set from local fiddler Paul Anderson, accompanie­d by guitarist Malcolm Jones of Runrig fame.
