New Star Trek name unveiled
producer Bryan Fuller announced the title – which comes from the name of the starship Discovery – during a panel at Comic-Con International in San Diego.
All 727 episodes of previous Star Trek television series including the original 1960s show will be available to watch on Netflix by the end of the year.
Production on Star Trek: Discovery will begin in Toronto in September. It will be the first Star Trek television series since Star Trek: Enterprise ended in 2005.
The cast of the new show has yet to be revealed.
