Kintore playgroup scores well

An Aberdeenshire early learning group has received a positive review after an inspection by Education Scotland.

Kintore Playgroup, which caters to youngsters between three and four years old, was found to be full of “happy and confident children".

Watchdog inspectors hailed the teamwork of the centre's staff, management and parent support.

However, inspectors urged the organisation to further develop its curriculum to keep in line with national guidance and continue to develop its self-evaluation programme to ensure ongoing improvements in children's learning.

An Education Scotland report said: “Almost all children are enthusiastic and motivated to learn."
