Max reprises Rio gold on plane

Team GB’s 11-hour flight from Rio to London featured all the fun and frolics expected from a group of record-breaking athletes making their way home.

There was singing, drinking and some even took to showing their gold-medal winning party tricks.

The sportsmen and women shared pictures of themselves enjoying a party atmosphere as they celebrated becoming the first country to better a home medal count at the following Olympics.

Scores of the stars took selfies with their colleagues, and double gold-medallist Max Whitlock showed off his gymnastics skill using first-class seats as apparatus.

The team flew in a gold-nosed British Airways Boeing 747 with “victoRIOus” emblazoned on the side. flight. Double gold-medallist Max Whitlock and champion boxer Nicola Adams were the first to emerge from the plane and stood at the top of the stairs
