HUSSAIN CAN’T SEE PAST HOME TRIUMPH

-

Former England captain Nasser Hussain has tipped Eoin Morgan’s side to continue their one-day international dominance against Pakistan. Although Pakistan moved top of the International Cricket Council Test rankings after fighting back to draw the four-match series, England have an excellent recent record against the tourists in 50-over cricket. They have beaten Pakistan in their last three one-day series, in 2010, 2012 and 2015, and Hussain expects England to keep the winning feeling going over the next five matches. “I wouldn’t write off Pakistan, but it is different,” said the 48year-old. “I think they are ranked ninth in one-day cricket – which is odd because, historically, they have been a very good one-day side. “They are a little bit more hit and miss in one-day cricket at the moment. “Their senior players who gave them such a calming influence in Test cricket, such as Misbah ul-Haq and Younis Khan, are not there. “A little bit like we saw in the UAE, they have their good days and suddenly the wheels come off.”
