Edinburgh’s Weir set for the sidelines

-

Edinburgh’s Scotland stand off Duncan Weir faces a lengthy lay-off after fracturing his jaw.

The 25-year-old suffered the painful blow during Saturday’s Guinness Pro12 defeat to Munster in Limerick.

He has already undergone surgery but Murrayfield head coach Alan Solomons has been told the former Glasgow player will be out of action for a considerable spell.

Tighthead prop Kevin Bryce is also awaiting scan results after suffering an elbow injury in the same match.

Back row player Nasi Manu and stand off Jason Tovey have recovered from their recent rib and wrist injuries and have returned to training.
