Glasgow Warriors were bit-part players in this Champions Cup celebration of the life of former Munster captain and coach AnthonyFoley, whodied last weekat the age of only 42.

Munster scored five tries in easily brushingaside the challengeof theirPro12 rivals beforearaucous capacity crowd of 26,500.

Minster’s performance was all the more remarkable as they played with 14 men for an hour after winger Keith Earls was redcarded in 18 minutes for a dangerous tackle on Glasgow hooker Fraser Brown. Man of the match Tyler Bleyendaal, centre Jaco Taute and Simon Zebo all touched down before half-time, while Munster were awarded a penalty try soon after the restart to secure the bonus point. Rory Scannell claimed try number five late on.

A minute’s silence was impec- cably observed before the start of the match. The Munster Rugby Supporters’ Club Choir took to the pitch to perform There Is An Isle, which was greeted with a standing ovation.

Soprano Sinead O’Brien then joined the choir to perform Stand Up And Fight and the Munster faithful, decked in their tradi- tional red, stood and sang along. The Warriors were exemplary in paying their respects to Foley, with head c oach Gregor Townsend and fellow coach Dan McFarland attending Friday’s funeral at Killaloe, County Clare, and the players also visiting the Thomond Park shrine to the late number eight.
