May elections a chance to be heard
SIR, – Reader James MacDonald (Letters, February 22) calls on Scottish businesses to vote against the Conservatives in the local elections in May and to send a message to Theresa May and Ruth Davidson that they do not support being taken over the cliff edge of leaving the single market.
In all fairness, it could also be said that ordinary Scottish voters have the opportunity in May to send a message to Alex Salmond and Nicola Sturgeon that they do not support being taken over the cliff edge of an early independence referendum.
