British wrestler banned
Eight-time British wrestling champion Chinu Sandhu has been given a fouryear ban by UK AntiDoping after testing positive for a steroid.
Sandhu, who also won a bronze medal at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, originally blamed the positive test on medication he was taking but then changed his story to say it was a contaminated supplement.
A three-person national anti-doping panel rejected Sandhu’s claim of unintentional use and imposed the maximum four-year sanction for first-time offenders. The 29-yearold tested positive for stanozolol in an outof-competition test on September 20, 2016.
