A hat-trick from Lee Fraser and a headed double from Stuart Soane helped Forres notch a magnificent seven against rivals Nairn County at Mosset Park last night.

Spectators didn’t have to wait long for the scoring to start.

Forres raced into an early lead when Calum Howarth got down the left flank and his low cross was tucked home at the near post by Craig McGovern. Three minutes later the visitors were almost level, Gary Kerr taking the ball around Stuart Knight and striking goalwards, only for Simon Allan to clear his effort off the line.

On the half-hour mark Andrew Macrae missed a great chance to make it two for Forres and Nairn made the home side pay 30 seconds later. Ross Naismith's cross from the right was tapped home at the far post by Kerr for the equaliser. Stuart Soane put Forres back in front in the 37th minute when he headed home Pollock's cross from eight yards.

Three minutes later Andrew MacRae cut inside and curled home Forres' third after his initial effort was blocked and landed right back at the midfielders feet.

Lee Fraser then struck twice before the break to put the home side firmly in control. Firstly he strode through from the half way line to slide the ball under Cormack, then he took advantage of some shoddy defending to blast home their fifth goal of the evening.

Soane completed his own double in the 61st minute when he headed in another excellent cross from the marauding Allan.

Twelve minutes from time Lee Fraser completed his hat-trick with a mishit effort that bounces beyond Cormack from 12 yards.
