McGovern to Elgin
Elgin City have won the race to sign experienced midfielder Jon-Paul McGovern, who ended last season as joint playermanager at Clyde.
Annan as well as a number of Lowland and junior sides were keen to bring McGovern, 36, on board but after speaking to Elgin manager Jim Weir he has opted for Borough Briggs.
McGovern said: “I made the decision that I wanted to carry on playing as opposed to working as a coach or a manager. I came back into the Clyde team at the end of the season and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of every game.
“I am delighted to get the chance to keep playing and will complete the paperwork to join Elgin when I come back from a short holiday.”
