Insight into Muslim community

SIR, – I feel compelled to write to you regarding that wonderful editorial in Saturday’s YL Magazine, (Press and Journal, June 24), “We’re all Human”, which gave a fascinating insight into the Muslim community both in Aberdeen and the wider domain.

From the little girl in her Peppa Pig T-shirt to Romisa Albashir, pictured, I can just hear her with her “Aiberdeen twang”, to Dr Waheed who splits his time between Raigmore Hospital and London. I knew little about Ramadan previously, or the generosity which takes place in the Muslim community.

It is a great pity that these good people have to endure so much antagonism due to the horrific acts of a few deranged individuals. Alan Davidson, Monaltrie Crescent, Ballater
