Lifeline on rates rise – but it’ s still ‘not enough’

North-east business leaders have welcomed a new government lifeline for some firms hammered by massive rate rises – but said it still did not go far enough.

Finance Secretary Derek Mackay said reliefs designed to cushion the blow would stay in place for another year.
