Mother and son admit dealing drugs

-

A mother and son have admitted to dealing drugs in their north-east home.

Police raided a property on Brickfield Terrace in Stonehaven in January.

During a search of the home where Annette Peacock, 50, and Michael Steel, 24, lived, the officers discovered multiple bags of cocaine and cannabis in a vault as well as in bedrooms and the living room.

The cocaine had the potential to realise a street value of more than £28,000. Peacock admitted to dealing both substances during an appearance at Aberdeen Sheriff Court yesterday and her son admitted to supplying the cannabis.

Fiscal depute Stephanie Ross said: “A mobile phone was recovered from the living room belonging to Ms Peacock.

“The messages from December 30 were indicative of her being involved in the supply and sale of cocaine and cannabis. During an interview with the police, Steel said he bought the cannabis, used some of it himself and sold some to his friends.”

Sheriff Andrew Miller said: “Before deciding on the appropriate sentence, I am going to adjourn for four weeks to allow time for criminal justice social work reports to be obtained as well as a restriction of liberty order assessment.”

They are due to return to court next month to face sentencing.
