Play given castle setting

-

The thane of Cawdor is returning to his castle next month in a touring production of the Scottish play.

A Glasgow-based theatre company is staging a one- off showing of Macbeth in the grounds of Cawdor Castle.

Cawdor plays a key role in the Shakespeare play, with Macbeth inheriting lordship of the castle early in the drama.

The new adaptation is produced by the Bard in the Botanics festival and is directed by Gordon Barr.

This version of Macbeth is set in the 1950s and stars Kirk Bage as the eponymous monarch.

The five-hander is at Cawdor for one night on the evening of Sunday, August 7.

Tickets are available from Cawdor Castle and cost £15 for adults and £8 for children.
