Woman on pill died of blood clot

A normally fit and healthy 23-year-old woman collapsed and died from a blood clot five months after being prescribed the combined contraceptive pill, an inquest has heard.

Charlotte Foster from Newport, Shropshire, went into cardiac arrest after a thrombosis thought to have arisen in her pelvis or leg caused a “massive” embolism in her lungs.
