World of difference in two years but Cikos happy to be back

Kris Doolan is closing in on his Partick Thistle century but the Jags attacker is already looking at milestones further down the road.

The Firhill frontman netted his 90th goal for the Maryhill outfit with his winner in last week’s Betfred Cup match at Airdrie.

Now he is aiming to become just the ninth man to reach three figures for the club in the season ahead.

However, Doolan, whose Jags face Queen of the South at Firhill today, insists he has no intention of stopping at 100.

The 29-year-old former junior player said:“Any forward wants to get off and running as quickly as possible, so to get a goal in the firstgameo­f theseasonw­as brilliant.

“That’smeup to 90 goals for Thistle, so I’m closing in on the century now.

“It’s getting closer and closer. At the start of every season I think I can take a big chunk out of it and claw myself closer to it.
