‘Nasty assault’ charges
Two Inverness men were ordered to carry out unpaid community work after a “nasty assault" on a neighbour.
Dylan Drummond, 21, Rosehaugh Road, and 32- year- old digger driver James Paterson of Glendoe Terrace were found guilty of assaulting Stephen Mackinnon, of Glendoe Terrace, by punching and kicking him, headbutting him and striking him with an unknown object.
Drummond was ordered to do 300 hours, remain under supervision for two years and do an offender awareness programme. Paterson was ordered to carry out 250 hours. Their co-accused, Peter Moffat, 30, Bruce Gardens and John Burns, 30, of Anderson Street had sentence deferred until September for background reports.
Sheriff Chris Dickson said: “This was a nasty assault on a neighbour."
