Lawrie to be face of brand

Audit, tax and consulting firm RSM UK has signed up Aberdonian golfing star Paul Lawrie as a brand ambassador.

RSM, which has Scottish offices in Aberdeen, Lerwick, Edinburgh and Glasgow, said yesterday the three-year deal was a further expansion of its golf sponsorshi­p programme.

Lawrie will display the RSM logo on his shirt during tournament­s and take part in client and employee events.

RSM UK chief operating officer David Gwilliam said: ‘Paul’s success over many years speaks volumes about his profession­alism and commitment.

“I am sure he will be a fantastic ambassador for the RSM brand.”

Tour, said: “I have had a long personal associatio­n with RSM, due to their longstandi­ng support of the Paul Lawrie Golf Centre (in South Deeside Road, Aberdeen), and I am delighted to be taking that to a new level.

“This year, I am looking forward to playing a key role as part of the Europe Ryder Cup team and I will be proud to have RSM UK backing me all the way.”

In addition to winning the Open Championsh­ip in 1999, Lawrie has notched up eight European Tour wins and represente­d Europe twice at the Ryder Cup.

This year, he takes on the role as vice-captain of the European Ryder Cup team for the first time.

In addition to its support for Lawrie, RSM UK also backs European Tour player Andy Sullivan.
