Restaurant­s: City offering remains strong

Geoff Cooper, city centre manager at business developmen­t group Aberdeen Inspired said:

“It is always sad to see a business close and it is our hope that all people affected by this will be looked after and given other opportunit­ies.

“Despite this news, Aberdeen retains a strong restaurant offering, with a diverse range of new eateries making their home within the city.

appeal the city still has for new names, while the opening of Five Guys on the site of the former Gap store in October will be another highlight.

“Aberdeen Inspired has a vital role to play in the current tough economic climate, and we will continue to work within the city centre to revitalise Union Street and draw more businesses to the city.”

As part of Aberdeen City Council’s city centre masterplan more than £1million is being invested in the thoroughfa­re, with the aim of making it an even more attractive propositio­n for retailers and restaurant­s and complement­ing the outlets already operating in the city.
