UK Government can now be left in no doubt about the scale of the opposition to its short-sighted proposal to pull the Army out of Fort George.

Thousands of people have backed the Press and Journal’s campaign to save the base, and yesterday we delivered their message directly to the door of Prime Minister Theresa May.

The fight to save the historically-important and economically-vital garrison does not end there, however, andthesameis true of thecampaign to retain Kinloss Barracks.

TheMinistry ofDefence must take heed and abandon these damaging proposals, because the people of theHighlands andMoray will not desert their bases or this cause.
