Messages should be ‘closer to home’

SIR, – Reading Saturday's P&J, there was an article about the first minister's demands from Theresa May regarding the Brexit issue. I couldn't help but think back to the P&J on Thursday which showed two SNP parliamentary delegates at Downing Street with a petition on women's pensions. One of them, Mhairi Black, says as part of her statement “it's time for the government to do the job they were elected to do". Perhaps this should have been said a bit closer to home?
