Wild man to beat at Badaguish

-

Lochaber AC’s Finlay Wild starts as favourite to take top spot in tomorrow’s Meall a’ Bhuachaille race at Badaguish, near Aviemore.

The Fort William runner could challenge the record time of 1hr 2min 24sec for the 13km course, which includes 720metres of climbing, set by Orlando Edwards in 2014.

Wild’s opponents include Dave Wilby (Highland Hill Runners), who won in 2014 and was beaten into second position last year by Yorkshire’s Ted Mason.

Lisa Allan (Cairngorm Runners) won the women’s race in 2015 in a race with Rachel Limbrick (Highland Hill Runners) which ended with both sharing the same time of 1:25.49. The women’s course record of 1:14.12 was set by Tessa Hill in 2013.

Entries will be taken on the day at Badaguish Outdoor Centre, Glenmore, prior to the 12.30pm start.
