Home comfort for north-east
The
upturn in the housingmarket is amuch welcomed green shoot for the region. The north-east has weathered an oil price storm like none other. Its effects have rippled further than the offshore sector, hitting the housing market and family pocketbooks alike. But the increased sales may reflect an end to the holding pattern the region has found itself in since oil dipped below $30.
It’s a much welcomed reprieve and reassuring economic indicator; however, it is just a start. The region will still need to flex its resilience muscles, it will still need the brightest minds and most of all a steadfast belief it will emerge a better, stronger version of itself. Let’s hope this a sign of things to come.
