We hear much about the relative merits of Gaelic and Doric, and their place in the culture of the north and north-east. The Gaelic Mod festival of song and literature is a good example. Now a leading ambassador for Doric is calling for a week-long north-east festival of everything Doric. There is a lot to be said for it.
