Real test over control rooms
Police Scotland has now completed its controversial transfer of north-east 999 control room and 101 service centres to Dundee and Central Belt, respectively.
Is it about improving the service or amassive cost-saving exercise? Only time will tell.
The real test now starts as controllers in faroff bases make potentially life or death decisions for north-east people. The anger has not receded – for one critic, the “thin blue line” has just vanished.
