Indy vote ‘bigger worry’
North Sea deal-making and investment is likely to carry on in the face of political uncertainty over thenext fewyears, a survey has found.
The poll revealed adesire throughout Scottish industry to “get on and make things happen” – and not be dictated to by the political landscape.
Law firm Burness Paull, which carried out the study, said yesterday a second Scottish independence referendum was more of a concern for businesses than Brexit.
The survey sought the views of 50 leading industry figures.
Participants came from a range of sectors, including property and infrastructure, oil and gas, manufacturing, and food and drink.
Just under one-fifth worked in oil and gas, while 39% were based in Aberdeen.
Jamie Stark, of Burness Paull, said Brexit was less of a problem for the oil and gas sector because it broadly trades outwith the EU.
