SNP calls on Conservati­ves to match City Deal funding

The SNP has called on the UK Government to match the funding of the Holyrood executive in City Deals in the north and north-east.

The party claims the UK’s investment in Aberdeen has fallen short by £254million and in Inverness by £82million.

In its manifesto, which is being launched tomorrow, the SNP will also make calls for City Deals in other parts of Scotland including one for the Western Isles, Orkney and Shetland.

He said: “The Tories are guilty of short-changing Scotland.

“The UK Government has failed time and time again to match the funding put forward by the Scottish Government to develop Scotland’s cities and regions.
