‘No evidence’ of farming crisis

SIR, – The suggestion of a “crisis” within Scottish farming, as some non-secure tenancies reach a conclusion, is misleading (Press and Journal, May 18).

It is right and proper that when a contractua­l arrangemen­t is nearing its conclusion between two parties, or where a resumption clause may be exercised, both parties should sit down and discuss the future. There is indeed guidance in place from the
