Two injured as car rolls

Two people have been taken to hospital after a 4x4 rolled on a Moray road.

Earth and debris was thrown across the A95 Keith to Grantown road near Aberlour yesterday after a blue Mitsubishi Shogun went off the carriageway.

The windscreen of the vehicle was smashed and the bonnet crumpled due to the impact with an embankment at Marypark.

Two men were taken to Dr Gray’s Hospital in Elgin with minor injures following the incident that happened shortly after 2pm.

The car, which was travelling south towards Grantown, spun after leaving the road before coming to rest on its wheels.

of control on the busy trunk route, which is known as the Whisky Highway.

It is understood the 4x4 veered off the road to avoid traffic overtaking vehicles travelling in the opposite direction.

Police confirmed a motorbike was also involved in the incident.

Police and ambulance crews were called to the scene as emergency crews marshalled traffic and provided medical assistance.

Recovery crews later arrived to remove the Mitsubishi, which also had damage on its front bumper and roof, from the scene.

A police spokeswoman said: “We got a call at 2.25pm. A car and a motorbike were involved.

“There were no serious injuries.

“Two men were taken to hospital with cuts and bruises.”
