GB’s Pozzi disqualified

Great Britain’s European indoor champion Andrew Pozzi was disqualified in the 110 metres hurdles at the IAAF Diamond League meeting in Stockholm yesterday.

Pozzi was punished for a false start and could only watch as Spain’s Olympic silver medallist Orlando Ortega beat world champion Sergey Shubenkov by 0.01sec to win in 13.09.

Canada’s Andre De Grasse clocked an impressive 9.69 to win the 100m, although the wind-assisted time will not count for record purposes.

Ivory Coast’s Ben Youssef Meite came second in 9.84 with Ryan Shields, of Jamaica, third in 9.89.

Kenyan Timothy Cheruiyot held off Bahrain’s Alsadik Mikhou to win the 1,500m in 3min 30.77sec.
