Spieth getting back in business
I t wasn’t so long ago that some people were writing off Jordan Spieth. Fools. The 23-year-old gave us another reminder of his precocious talent by holing a bunker shot in a play-off to win the Travelers championship on Sunday. Since World War II, only one other player has won 10 PGA Tour titles before turning 24. A certain Tiger Woods. That shows just how impressive Spieth has been. I watched the coverage of the Travelers championship and I didn’t think the Texan played his best golf, but he certainly knows how to win when he gets a sniff. The bunker shot he holed in the play-off was outrageous – it wasn’t going anywhere other than the middle of the hole. The best players grind out wins when they aren’t at their best, that is the fundamental that separates them from the rest of the pack. I have played with Jordan a couple of times and he is a great talent. He has already won a couple of majors but he will win more, I have no doubt about that.
