Murray: Hibs must maintain attacking ambitions

-

Forward Simon Murray believes Hibs will dominate teams this season if they can maintain their attacking style both home and away.

The Easter Road outfit have not won in their last three matches, with Saturday’s 1-1 draw with St Johnstone coming on the back of the same score against Dundee and a 3-1 defeat at home to Hamilton Accies.

However, against Saints at the weekend, Neil Lennon’s men enjoyed 64% possession away from home and managed 15 shots compared to their hosts’ five.

In the previous game away to Dundee, the capital side again dominated the statistics and the Dark Blues had goalkeeper Scott Bain to thank for the draw.

Murray, who kicked off the season with 10 goals in seven matches, has not found the net in the last three games, but the former Dundee United man is convinced the Championship winners are still on the right tracks.

With Motherwell the visitors on Saturday, he

“We’ve got more than enough to compete with any team”

said: “We’ve got the players to have a go away from home and that’s what the manager wants us to do.

“He doesn’t care if it’s home or away, and we showed on Saturday we’ve got more than enough to compete with any team.

“It was just disappointing not to get the second goal, because it was all us in the second-half.

“We’re passing the ball and playing football, and we’re scoring goals.

“It was only one on Saturday but we’re creating chances.

“And hopefully on certain days we’ll just blow teams away if we are capable of playing to the best of our abilities.

“We’re creating chances and looking a threat, we just need to keep on going in games.

“If we keep doing what we’re doing we’ll win more games than we lose.”
