Creating a new community
At times, it’s easy to get the impression that all everyhomeowner wants is more hightech appliances for their abode, but that’s simply not the case. In fact, as a new survey has revealed, it’s traditional things likehavinga home in an area with a strong sense of community, easy access to local amenities, good transport links and a nice view, that really matters.
According to theOffice of National Statistics having strong Wi-Fi connection and hi-tech kitchen appliances were not people’s main priorities when searching for their dream home, but a good interior and exterior layout and overall appearance of the house was important. Surprisingly only 11% of those who took part in a survey wanted strong Wi-Fi connection and a mere 5% l o o ked for a power shower.
Unsurprisingly it revealed that there is a huge demand for a sense of community with easy access to local amenities and transport links regarded as significant while most people were also concerned about energy saving features. This shows a shift of mood from the desire for modcons to homes with a positive environmental impact and, subsequently, lower bills.
Carolanne Dieleman from the Stewart Milne Group, said: “This research has supported the ethos of Stewart Milne Homes which is to focus on creating new communities with green space and quality homes that attract buyers who are looking for a good quality of life for themselves and their families.
