Orkney head coach Paul Livingstone already has one eye on next season but is determined to make the most of their remaining games this term.

The islanders face a heavy fixture backlog following a series of postponements, with nine remaining fixtures.

Orkney sit eighth in the table ahead of tomorrow’s trip to Dalziel and Livingstone is eager for his side to make the most of their games in hand.

He said: “We’ve had so many personnel changes this season through injury and unavailability.

“I’m already building for next season, focusing on players who are going to be here next season.

“We would still like to move two or three places up the table before the end of this season though, if not more.

“We have a good run of games coming up and have already played most of the better sides.”

Ninth-placed Dalziel are six points adrift of Orkney and Livingstone’s men ran out comfortable 52- 7 winners when the sides met at Pickaquoy in October.

Livingstone expects a tougher test against the Motherwell side and added: “It was a convincing win, one of our easier games this season, they can’t be doing too badly though, as they’re just one place behind us.

“We won’t take anything for granted based on a past result. Every game is different.

“We want other sides to worry about us rather than us worrying about them.”
