Ross County manager Jim McIntyre has started his summer reshuffle by releasing three players and telling another two they can leave Victoria Park.
Club captain Paul Quinn, who has struggled all season with a hamstring injury, is the most notable player to not be offered a new contract, while midfielders Jonathan Franks and Oscar Gobern, who made just one appearance after joining from Mansfield Town in January, will also leave.
McIntyre said: “All players have had limited game time since January. But the club would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their services to Ross County and wish them all the best for their future careers.”
Midfielders Martin Woods and Ian McShane are both under contract until next summer but have been told they are free to leave.
Youngsters David Brownlie, Chris McLaughlin and Matt Hall, who were part of Stuart Kettlewell’s Development League titlewinning side, have also been released. McIntyre remains hopeful of agreeing a new deal with Dutch defender Kenny van der Weg and is also in discussions about an extended contract for midfielder Chris Burke, who is continuing to recover from a viral infection which has kept him out for much of the campaign.
Midfielder Tony Dingwall, who suffered a cruciate ligament injury earlier this year, has been offered a six-month extension while his rehabilitation continues.
