There is no stopping Avoch at the top of the Inverness and District Amateur Premier League.

The runaway leaders produced another show of firepower in a 7-3 win against Ardersier at Coronation Park this week to move 12 points clear at the top.

Scott MacDonald gave Ardersier a shock lead in the opening minute but within five minutes counters from Shaun Kerr and Craig Munro, from the penalty spot, saw Avoch take a 2-1 lead.

However, Ardersier hit back in the 18th minute with an Andrew MacLean goal before Munro fired Avoch ahead with a free kick. But Ardersier refused to buckle and MacDonald levelled before the break.

Ardersier’s fortunes waned after the dismissal of full back David Miele for a second booking early in the second half.

Avoch rattled in four more, with substitutes, Craig Stuart getting two and Phil MacDonald and Ross Munro also on target.

Culbokie moved into third spot after a 5-0 home win aginst Inverness Thistle. First-half goals from Gordon Bruce and Michael MacKenzie set the ball rolling. There were further goals from Evan Murray, Graeme Stewart and Craig Patience.

Police moved away from the foot of the table after a 3-1 win against Merkinch at Bught Park.

An own goal gave Police the edge before Andy MacDonald levelled before the break. But a Sam McLaughlin penalty and a Colin Scott goal secured the points for Police in the second half.

The Loch Ness v Tomatin match was abandoned after 55 minutes due to Loch Ness player James Fairns receiving treatment for a leg break.

Second placed ANM Ace, who have two games in hand on the leaders, had a free week.
