together. Recent signs of recovery in the North Sea economy mean we can be optimistic about the way ahead. This is in no small part due to the skill, determination and hard work of so many people in this sector.”
Ms Sturgeon confirmed the Scottish Government will continue to provide support and responsibility for the taskforce workstreams transfers to the Oil & Gas Industry Leadership Group, co-chaired by energy minister Paul Wheelhouse. A transition plan will be agreed at the meeting today, which will allow members an opportunity to comment on the future role of the Industry Leadership Group.
Russell Borthwick, chief executive of Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce, said: “It’s clear the taskforce has met its original brief and that the various partners must continue to do what needs to be done outside the framework.”
Deirdre Michie, OGUK chief executive, added: “It is now time for the organisations who have been part of it to own and take forward any activities that may still need to be worked as the business environment moves on.”
