Monday Mayhem
CALA Homes (North) boosts Aberdeenshire charity
SensationALL, an Aberdeenshire-based charity which supports adults with Multiple Support Needs (MSN) and their families, has launched an additional session following a £1,000 donation from local builder, CALA Homes (North).
The weekly sessions enable adults who have a range of physical and neurodevelopment disabilities to meet and socialise while taking part in a variety of activities, including arts and crafts, baking, gardening, singing and dancing.
The charity’s ‘Monday Mayhem’ sessions are very popular and the creation of an additional group will enable SensationALL to welcome more attendees.
The donation was made through the housebuilder’s community bursary scheme which awarded 11 local groups and charities a share of £10,000 this year.
Adele Lindsay, Service Development Coordinator at SensationALL, said: “Our Mayhem sessions have proved very popular as they offer the opportunity for our attendees to take part in a wide variety of activities that encourage social interaction and fun.
“With help from CALA’s community bursary initiative, we have been able to introduce a second group to accommodate demand, and to enable us to better tailor activities to the specific needs and abilities of individuals in a safe environment.”
Bruce Masson, Architectural Manager for CALA Homes (North), said: “SensationALL provides a vital service to so many people in our community, offering the chance to take part in fantastic activities on a regular basis.”
Other successful community bursary applicants include 17 th Aberdeen Scout Group, Seaton Community Church, Pitscurry Day Service, Community Food Initiative North East (CFINE), GCRA Ltd, Sunrise Partnership, Alzheimer Scotland, Aberdeen Riding Club, CHAS, and Aberdeen Science Centre.
