Club could buy land near stadium
SIR, – Anyone who is familiar with
soccer elsewhere must wonder why the new AFC stadium is not being built at Pittodrie. There seems no reason why AFC should not build most of its stadium on adjacent land, before briefly closing the existing stadium to finish the construction, as Tottenham Hotspur are doing at White Hart Lane. There is ample land to the south of the existing stadium at Pittodrie, which the club could buy. I. M. Johnson, Beechwood Gardens, Westhill
