Brakes on tractor sales
Tractor sales in August were down for the first time in eight months, according to the Agricultural Engineers Association.
A total of 878 tractors, over 50 horsepower, were registered in the UK last month. This is down 7.9% on August 2016.
“This did follow a very healthy level of registrations in July and may be partly explained by the fact that there were five Mondays in August last year but five Mondays in July this year,” said the AEA.
“In addition, it was at this point in 2016 when significant increases were beginning to be seen, so we are comparing with higher levels one year ago.”
