Joiner in dock after night out

A man yesterday appeared in court accused of assault and sexual comment charges.

Allan MacKinnon, 31, is accused of asking to see a 24-year-old woman’s breasts and suggesting they have sex. On the same night at the shinty club darts night he is said to have made sexual comments to a teacher about him and his wife.

A third charge alleges MacKinnon punched former shinty player Andrew Long on the head “to his injury” at the Friday night function.

The joiner, of Varrigall House, Portree, Skye, denied all charges allegedly carried out at the Skye Camanachd clubhouse on October 27 when he appeared at Portree Sheriff Court. His trial was set for December 19. He was bailed on condition he did not return to the club or approach or contact any of the people mentioned in the charges.
