Lukaku will pay £340 to avoid jail

Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku will avoid the prospect of jail time by compensating police in Los Angeles for their repeated call-outs over loud parties in the summer.

Police arrested the 24-year-old after five noise complaints in as many days at a Beverly Hills residence where he was staying. He will pay £340 to have the charge reduced from a misdemeanour, which could have carried six months in jail.
