Amanda Jane and Mark moved into the new community from Stewart Milne Homes earlier this year and are now happily settled in their dream home with their two children – nineyear-old Lewis and Kyle, six.

“It also catered for the practical side of life with a laundry area and lots of storage space.”

The family already knew Alford well as they were frequent visitors to Haughton Country Park where they regularly camped and enjoyed picnics.

“I love the countryside and it is great to be surrounded by so much green space and to be able to enjoy the views of the mountains,” said Amanda Jane.

“The boys absolutely love it at Silver Birches.

“They have so much freedom and are out every night playing with their friends. I can see the park from our home and can keep an eye on them without cramping their style.

“Lewis is now also able to cycle to school every day and he enjoys being able to be more independent.

“The boys are also making the most of the wide range of facilities at Alford Community Campus participating in both judo and swimming lessons. They also enjoyed a week-long summer camp where they tried everything from the climbing wall and cycling through to swimming and zorbing.”
