Woman sues over sex fall

-

The former lover of a woman left paralysed after she was “catapulted” from her bed during sex has told the High Court he laughed – before realising she was hurt.

John Marshall said he saw Claire Busby roll backwards off the bed with her feet in the air “in slow motion”, as she shifted her position.

In a witness statement yesterday the 55-yearold, from Alloa, said: “I laughed, not realising she had hurt herself.”

Ms Busby, 46, of Maidenhead, Berkshire, suffered a serious spine injury after the fall in 2013. She claims the bed was in a “defective state” and is suing Berkshire Bed Company, trading as Beds Are Uzzz, which denies liability, arguing it was properly assembled.

The hearing continues.
