McCANN LOSES DUNDEEJOB

-

Dundee have parted company with manager Neil McCann after sitting bottom of the Premiership after eight games.

McCann had been under pressure at Dens Park and, after just one win in their opening eight games, the Dundee board have acted.

It comes just a day after the club denied reports that former Hearts manager Jim Jefferies – currently a director at Edinburgh City – was due to come in and assist McCann as part of his coaching staff.

Former Rangers and Southampton midfielder McCann was initially brought in last year to help keep the Dark Blues up in the 2016-17 season. He was successful in doing so but was only in interim charge, so was not offered the job until Dundee had failed to lure Jack Ross from St Mirren.

Their only victory this season came against Hamiltonand they were also beaten 3-0 by Ayr in the Betfred Cup.
